Our Footsteps

What initially began as a modest 5-acre venture in 2020 within the secluded lowlands of eastern Kenya has progressively burgeoned into a cultivation sprawl of over 100 acres, thriving across various regions in Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Machakos, and Kajiado counties.

This geographical diversity forms the backbone of AgroFirst’s ability to provide a diverse range of products throughout the year while upholding unwavering standards of safe supply, traceability, and quality.

The production of horticulture comes with inherent costs, often beyond the means of small-scale farmers, exacerbated by a significant portion of them being formally unbanked. Despite this, commercial banks deem these smallholders high risk, impeding their access to affordable credit.

In our commitment to empower growers, we extend input loans encompassing approved seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides. Throughout the entire production cycle – from land preparation and sowing to harvesting – our technical team provides complimentary agronomic advice and training, ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Social, and Good Agricultural Practices.

To alleviate financial constraints, we also offer cash advances to cover harvesting expenses, fostering increased performance and sustainability, thereby enhancing the economic resilience of our growers.

With such proactive incentives and interventions, coupled with a guaranteed market for their produce at equitable farm gate prices, horticulture has emerged as a more enticing prospect for small-scale farmers.
